With over 7 years of sneaker media experience, Luis brought his network and industry expertise to the marketing world to propel Reshoevn8r and its shoe-cleaning product to the next level for devoted sneaker aficionados to newcomers.
Luis was previously the Editor-in-Chief at Nice Kicks. Under the role, Luis oversaw all of the content on Nice Kicks’ site.
In addition to maintaining the site and assigning articles, Luis’ responsibilities included interviewing footwear designers, athletes, and high-profile collaborators for stories and features. Additionally, Luis covered all the breaking news in sneakers and streetwear as well as daily news and long-form stories about various topics and brands.
As a member of Nice Kicks’ leadership team, Luis constantly collaborated with departmental leaders, such as Social and Partnerships, to establish goals, strategic plans and objectives.
Luis was previously the Editorial Lead for SoleSavy, a community-driven platform that gives sneakerheads a community and resources, from tips to buy sneakers at retail, learn the latest about the industry, and expand their sneaker knowledge.
The roles and responsibilities included handling daily news coverage, exclusive interviews, and overseeing a team of freelance writers aiming to give the SoleSavy community a voice and unmatched information within the industry.
Before SoleSavy, Luis grew from a contributor to freelance writer to senior writer and junior editor for Nice Kicks from his start in July 2017 up until April 2021. Luis was responsible for adding value to the site by covering breaking news, conducting interviews with designers and athletes, and more.
Luis, due to his passion and knowledge of running, created performance reviews for running’s most respected brands as he translated the technology and design to the Nice Kicks audience of well over 4 million members across multiple platforms.
Luis was previously the social media manager and senior editorial writer at Manor Phoenix, a locally-owned boutique in Phoenix. Luis’ work reaches across social platforms, primarily Instagram.
Luis has also written product releases, gift guides, and more since November 2018. Luis was also responsible for launching Manor Run Club, which is a community-centered running group for all running levels in the Central Phoenix area, before its termination due to COVID-19. Luis was with Manor from 2018 to 2023.
Luis’ last project with Manor was ideating and organizing the Manor x Nike Super Bowl LVIII activation, bringing his retail, sneaker, and streetwear experience to a community-oriented event for all.
Luis was a contributor for One37PM, a site dedicated to the cultural overlap of fashion, news, and entrepreneurship. Luis wrote brand-to-consumer knowledge pieces, shop guides, and more from September 2019 to March 2020.
